Summary (From Book Cover):  Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what’s normal when you’re a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? Clary would love to spend more time with her best friend, Simon. But the Shadowhunters won’t let her go—especially her handsome, infuriating newfound brother, Jace. And Clary’s only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter, Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil—and also her father. When the second of the Mortal Instruments is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor suspects Jace. Could Jace really be willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?
My Say: Okay, so I did love this book too, how could I not? It’s Cassandra Clare’s writing, however I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first one. I loved how Cassandra Clare introduced us to the society of the Children of the Fae and showed the world of these Downworlders—which she didn’t in the previous book. I also enjoyed how she showed us more to the Shadowhunter world, and actually dealt with more demon in the story, which is what the Shadowhunters were created to destroy. However, I didn’t get the exact same vibe that I had gotten from City of Bones.
Recommendation: So long as you have read the first book , and you like the paranormal world, but want something darker than Twilight then I would recommend this book. But if you’re still hooked up on strictly love stories, then this I wouldn’t recommend as strongly…instead I would show you to the more realistic books…the ones that have nothing related to fantasy in them aside from the plot line.

Summary (From Book Cover):  When Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with odd markings. This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons--and keeping the odd werewolves and vampires in line. It's also her first meeting with gorgeous, golden-haired Jace. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in an ordinary mundane like Clary? And how did she suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...
My Say: I LOVED this book. Dark, sexy, mysterious and fun with a plot that twists and turns. Yup. My kind of book. The characters were amazingly constructed. The plot definitely well thought out. The who universe within the book is just outright breath taking. I just wished I had an imagination as incredible as this!
Recommendation: If you're into modern fairy tales or urban fantasy, if you like arrogant-bad boys, the heroine who's not afraid to take control, if you like plots that take a whole new turn, then I definitely recommend this book. Cassandra Clare has developed characters, plot and a universe that will truly stun you. With characters that follow their own designated paths and grow, and a universe that is just as vividly thought out as J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter world, but extremely different, this is a book I think that everyone should read.
